Cassandra's Year Of Birthday Cakes

Cassandra's Year Of Birthday Cakes

In 2017 I made a little deal with myself, I wanted to make all of my family’s birthday cakes (thanks, Ina Garten and Barefoot Contessa for the inspiration). I enjoy baking with my kids and thought that letting them help with their own cakes would create some great memories and foster their love for cooking and baking. The birthday cakes weren’t perfect works of art, but they were prepared with love - so they tasted even better!

Ina Garten - Get The Look

We love all the buzz about the release of Cooking for Jeffrey! Have you seen People Magazine's exclusive peek into Ina and Jeffrey's 48-year marriage? It's such a lovely story (you can read it here). And, we're so excited to bring you French Wines Glasses similar to the ones Ina and Jeffrey are using in the exclusive photo (courtesy of People/Christopher Testani).

Our East Hampton Favorites

Our East Hampton Favorites

I have so many great memories from growing up in East Hampton, NY – but I didn’t fully understand what a special place it is until I got a little older. No matter how old I get or where I live, I will always miss ‘home’ – especially in the summer. Thankfully, we get to spend lots of time visiting EH.

Springs Farmer's Market - East Hampton

Springs Farmer's Market - East Hampton

I absolutely love summer in East Hampton. One of my favorite things to do is visit the local farmer’s markets. This week Cassandra was in town and we had a great morning at the Springs Farmer’s Market on the green at Ashawagh Hall. Springs is the part of East Hampton where we both grew up, so it’s always fun to visit the market when we're back there during the summer.

Happy Father's Day

Three cheers for all of the great fathers and the amazing men who represent ‘dad’ in our lives. I thought Father’s Day would be a good time to give a little shout out to an awesome dad, wonderful friend, and great partner - my husband Brad.Save

Renee’s Granola Clusters - East Hampton

Earlier this month I got to hangout with my friend Renee McCormack to talk about (and taste) her delicious granola. Renee and I have been friends since elementary school. We navigated East Hampton High School together and now Renee lives there full-time and runs her business FOODfitness.

Happy Mother's Day

In honor of Mother’s Day I wanted to write a bit about my own mother, Barbara. She’s not only a supportive and loving mom, but she’s become quite the cook and has been Ina Garten’s personal assistant for the last 16 years. Her encouragement and support plays a significant role as Cindy and I continue to move forward with Cassandra’s Kitchen.
