New Product - Pillivuyt Round Tart Dish

During this time of year we spend a lot of time entertaining or preparing food to take with us to parties or get-togethers. Our new Pillivuyt Round Tart Dish has been getting a lot of holiday love. Pillivuty pieces are known for their even heat conduction, versatility, and durability. In Cooking For Jeffrey, Ina Garten uses it to make Prune Armagnac Clafouti. Whether breakfast, brunch, dinner or just desserts, we think this dish will be an all-star in the kitchen.

Thanksgiving Menu

Thanksgiving is here and we’re busy prepping for our feast. My mom, Barbara is coming into town to help with all of the meal preparation. I’m hosting 16 people and I could not (and would not) do it without her. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s on the menu.SaveSave

Introducing Farmhouse Pottery

Last summer, while on vacation in East Hampton, I was lucky enough to visit with Ina Garten in her home. I noticed a beautiful piece of pottery sitting out (everything in Ina’s home is beautiful!). I immediately grabbed it, turned it upside down, and saw the Farmhouse Pottery seal. I did some quick research on the company and knew right away that these pieces (and this company) were perfect for Cassandra’s Kitchen.

Herbed Goat Cheese in a Weck Jar

Lately at Cassandra’s Kitchen, we spend every spare moment pouring over the recipes in Cooking for Jeffrey. The response to the book has been tremendous and we’ve done our best to stock cookware, tableware, and products that Ina uses and features in the book. This week we wanted to highlight the Weck Canning Jar that Ina uses for her Herbed Goat Cheese.

We love all the buzz about the release of Cooking for Jeffrey! Have you seen People Magazine's exclusive peek into Ina and Jeffrey's 48-year marriage? It's such a lovely story (you can read it here). And, we're so excited to bring you French Wines Glasses similar to the ones Ina and Jeffrey are using in the exclusive photo (courtesy of People/Christopher Testani).

In The Kitchen - Lemon & Herb Chicken

It’s mid-week and my husband has worked late the past few days. It’s just one of those times when cooking a full meal seems daunting, and also one of those times that I’m thankful I have recipes, from great cooks like Ina Garten's How Easy is That, stored in my head! This Baked Lemon & Herb Chicken is my version of Ina’s Lemon Chicken Breasts. Delicious and SO EASY!

In The Kitchen - Barbecue Sides

With the last few weeks of summer upon us, we couldn’t leave the season behind without a Summer Barbeque post! Cindy and her husband are masters of the grill (check out Cindy’s post here) – but I am the master of side dishes (thanks to my mom and Ina). I’ve hosted and attended quite a few family dinners and bbqs this summer so I put together a quick round up of some of my favorite side dishes.

Our East Hampton Favorites

Our East Hampton Favorites

I have so many great memories from growing up in East Hampton, NY – but I didn’t fully understand what a special place it is until I got a little older. No matter how old I get or where I live, I will always miss ‘home’ – especially in the summer. Thankfully, we get to spend lots of time visiting EH.

Springs Farmer's Market - East Hampton

Springs Farmer's Market - East Hampton

I absolutely love summer in East Hampton. One of my favorite things to do is visit the local farmer’s markets. This week Cassandra was in town and we had a great morning at the Springs Farmer’s Market on the green at Ashawagh Hall. Springs is the part of East Hampton where we both grew up, so it’s always fun to visit the market when we're back there during the summer.
