Pearce became fascinated with Georgian glass's radiance and magnificence in the early 1970s and committed himself to reinvigorating the ancient art of glassblowing to meet modern preferences. The first section of the book depicts Pearce's childhood in rural Ireland, which profoundly influenced his artistic sensibility, and his pivotal decision to establish a groundbreaking studio in Vermont. The book highlights his signature creations, captured in individual photographs as well as inspirational table arrangements and vignettes. Additionally, the book features profiles of the works of ceramists, glassblowers, and artisans whom he gathers and seeks motivation from.
