We were so excited to get our favorite HÔTEL Silver Footed Bowls back in stock - just in time for holiday entertaining. We love our HÔTEL Silver pieces - they're all beautiful and they really do make any occasion feel special. So, we took a page from Ina Garten's book (Cook Like A Pro) and brightened up our holiday tables with some silver sparkle! We hope this post sparks some inspiration for your own holiday entertaining.
If you've seen Ina’s Cook Like A Pro Easy Hors d'Oeuvres video, you know that silver is an easy way to elevate your party snacks and appetizers. We made Ina's Smokey Roasted Eggplant and served it in the HÔTEL Silver Oval Dish with some pita and cucumber on the Rectangular Cheese Board. Super simple to put together, but the presentation makes it impressive.
As soon as we saw the recipe for Ina's Roasted Shrimp Cocktail Louis, we knew we had to make that too! The photo accompanying the recipe (in Cook Like A Pro), shows the dipping sauce in a HÔTEL Silver Sauce Boat - what a great idea - and Roasted Shrimp Cocktail Louis is an ideal dish for a brunch or cocktail party. The sauce is so amazing, you'll want to put it on everything - we actually started dipping potato chips and cucumber!
Like Ina, we agree that using different size bowls adds interest to the table. The different bowls sizes are useful for serving sides at the dinner table - cranberry sauce, potatoes, stuffing. And when we’re not using them, the pieces look great placed on an open shelf or server. The 4-inch Bowl and Oval Dish are perfect for candy, ice cream sundaes, nuts, and we love the Divided Dish for pistachios - it also makes a nice gift.
Some of the most beautiful pieces are the Cake Stands. Stack them up and layer them with cupcakes or muffins. We made Ina's Coconut Cupcakes and stacked them on different size cake stands to make a lovely centerpiece. The cupcakes are great for a winter party because they look like little snowballs!
We also added some white chocolate covered pretzels in the HÔTEL Silver Pitcher. Since they are antiques and sourced from old hotels and steam ships, each one is unique, so you can place a few of them together for added interest. It's safe to say this winter wonderland dessert table was a hit! Everyone was dying over it - they just couldn't wait to dig in.
We recently added HÔTEL Silver Mint Julep Glasses to the shop. So far we've found them to be pretty useful. If you've seen our Holiday Cocktails blog, you know we love them for Cranberry Christmas Juleps, but we've also used them as a vase and a utensil holder during a party.
And we can't forget the silver trays! We love HÔTEL Silver Trays for presenting wine and special cocktails or displaying finger appetizers, cakes, cookies, and desserts. The sparkle of the silver brings a fun, unexpected touch.
This post has us excited for entertaining this season. We will share more of our HÔTEL Silver photos on Instagram and Facebook and we'll let you know as new HÔTEL Silver items arrive on the site. Cheers!
